Personal injury and insurance lawyer Norman Dachs, who practiced on Long Island for almost 60 years, died early Wednesday of lung cancer. He was 81.
Dachs grew up in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, and graduated from Brooklyn Law School in 1954 at 21 years old. The following year, he started a personal injury firm in downtown Brooklyn with Neil Shayne, a law school classmate. They moved their office to Mineola in 1959.
