The Appellate Division, First Department unanimously affirmed a ruling in a divorce case that ordered the defendant-wife to put $750,000 into an escrow account to cover her husband’s legal fees in a two-and-a-half-year-old lawsuit.

The appellate court also sustained Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Laura Drager’s $15,000 sanction of the wife, Guni Murjani, for “frivolous conduct” for filing a jurisdictional challenge two years after the case began, and after her lawyer told the court the wife did not intend to challenge jurisdiction.
