A former Colgate University student who was found guilty of coercion and unlawful surveillance for secretly videotaping himself having sex with two women has been classified a Level 1 offender on the state’s sex offender registry.

Madison County Court Judge Dennis McDermott set Michael Piznarski’s classification level at the least-dangerous of the three categories. Madison County’s district attorney’s office had asked for a Level 2, while Piznarski had asked not to be registered at all.
