A judge has dismissed a lawsuit filed by a doctor against three New York attorneys who wrote about another judge’s scathing remarks against him, finding their statements were privileged or protected opinions.

Dr. Michael Katz brought a defamation suit against attorneys Eric Turkewitz and Samson Freundlich, who wrote blog posts about a Queens judge repeatedly calling Katz a liar. In the same action, Katz also sued Paul Kassirer, a partner at Lester Schwab Katz & Dwyer, who e-mailed insurance industry clients about the blog, and the firm itself.
