Grant & Eisenhofer has brought legal action against Bernstein Liebhard, its co-counsel in Fannie Mae securities litigation, over a fee-sharing dispute (See Complaint).

Grant claims it reached an agreement with the Bernstein firm and clients in 2009 in which Grant served as of counsel to Bernstein in a federal class action in Washington, D.C., against Fannie Mae on behalf of two client pension funds, In re Fannie Mae Securities Litigation, 04-cv-1639. Under the agreement, Grant & Eisenhofer would contribute 26 percent of Bernstein’s obligations in case expenses, and Grant would receive 26 percent of Bernstein’s fees.
