Mario Fortunato, who sued New York state for unjust conviction and imprisonment after his murder conviction was overturned in 2010, has settled with the state for $300,000, his attorney said.
His conviction for second-degree murder arose from being present at a double shooting inside a Brooklyn social club in 1994. One victim died and one survived.
