Orange County Executive Steven Neuhaus vetoed a local law Monday that would have authorized a sale or long-term lease of its shuttered County Government Center in Goshen, apparently averting a sanctions recommendation from the Office of Court Administration.

The government center, which contained several courtrooms, was closed more than three years ago after two torrential summer storms. In 2013, the state accepted a proposal from the county to restore the lost judicial facilities in a renovated and expanded government center.
