Yisroel Schulman has resigned as president and attorney-in-charge of the New York Legal Assistance Group amid what two sources familiar with the matter said is a federal grand jury investigation of his handling of money at the not-for-profit legal services provider.

Schulman, 51, is being investigated by a Southern District grand jury, the sources told the New York Law Journal Thursday. One source said the probe involved “accounting irregularities.”
