A state judge who took over New York City’s asbestos court last month during what defendants described as a “period of great upheaval” pledged Thursday to closely examine the court’s procedures and policies.

“You can be sure I will be looking under the hood very scrupulously,” Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Peter Moulton said at his first “town hall” meeting with attorneys who practice in New York City Asbestos Litigation (NYCAL).
