A nonprofit foundation formed to support Nassau Community College failed to prove it was exempt under the state Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) from a teachers union’s records request, an appellate court ruled.
In 2011, the union requested records from the college regarding attorney fees paid to Ingerman Smith and, in 2012, records from the Nassau Community College Foundation, which provides grants to the school.
