Former New York State Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver pleaded not guilty Tuesday to a superseding indictment on public corruption charges and said he welcomed a trial, which is set to start Nov. 2.
“I’m glad a trial date is set. I’m confident I will be vindicated after a full hearing on the facts,” Silver said after his arraignment before Southern District Judge Valerie Caproni.
