Suffolk County prosecutors must turn over investigator notes to a man who claims his civil rights were violated after being beaten by off-duty Nassau County officers and charged by police with bogus criminal offenses in a cover-up.

Waving off prosecution arguments that the witness interview notes were shielded by the law enforcement privilege, Eastern District Magistrate Judge A. Kathleen Tomlinson said the value of the notes to plaintiff Thomas Moroughan outweighed other factors.
