Mayor Bill de Blasio has appointed two new judges to the New York City Family Court, bringing the number of Family Court judges appointed this year to eight and leaving one vacancy.

The new judges are David Kaplan, who was supervising judge of the New York City Housing Court; and Emily Ruben, who has worked for the last 18 years as attorney-in-charge of the Legal Aid Society’s Brooklyn Neighborhood Office.
