The New York City Bar Association held its inaugural diversity and inclusion event Monday to discuss how the legal profession can become more diverse. Panelists reviewed the current state of diversity in the profession, addressing pipeline issues, implicit bias, and diversity in the judiciary.

From left, Court of Appeals Judge Sheila Abdus-Salaam; Appellate Division, First Department, Justice Rosalyn Richter; U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit Judge Denny Chin; and Eastern District Judge Pamela Chen emphasized the work by affinity bar groups such as the City Bar, Metropolitan Black Bar Association, the Hispanic Bar, and the Asian Bar in promoting diversity.
