Attorney General Eric Schneiderman has designated Alvin Bragg Jr., his executive deputy for social justice, to supervise attorneys who will investigate and prosecute police killings of unarmed civilians.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed an executive order Wednesday making the attorney general the special prosecutor in such cases or where there is a question whether the civilians were armed and dangerous (NYLJ, July 9).
