A claim by truckers that New York state impermissibly charges higher interstate highway tolls to support its canal system has been reinstated by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.

Three commercial trucking companies and trucking trade associations had alleged that New York was imposing a burden on interstate commerce along the 570 miles of highway in New York by collecting more toll money than necessary to support the highways.
