The Nassau County Bar Association has launched a pilot program allowing parties in guardianship disputes to enter mediation, with mediators provided by the bar and an investment advisory firm.
Judges will recommend that parties in some guardianship cases, such as Article 81 and Surrogate Courts Procedure Article 17 and 17-A proceedings, air out disputes in mediation rather than in court.
