Harlan Levy will return to a partnership at Boies, Schiller & Flexner after serving as chief deputy to state Attorney General Eric Schneiderman since January 2011.

Levy, 59, said he expects to focus on civil litigation and defending those under governmental investigation. He is prohibited by state ethics laws from defending clients under investigation by the attorney general’s office or from appearing in matters before the office for the next two years.
