Chadbourne & Parke and Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman may be discussing a union. The two firms are actively engaged in discussions about a potential combination, according to four sources familiar with the matter, two of whom said a deal could be completed by October.

Bloomberg BNA broke the news of the merger talks between Chadbourne and Pillsbury on Wednesday, citing seven sources knowledgeable of the talks. The deal, if completed, would create a 930-lawyer firm with roughly $814 million in annual gross revenue, placing the firm 37th between Cooley and Proskauer Rose in The Am Law 100 rankings.
