Staten Island’s long-awaited courthouse opened its doors on Monday. The $230 million site will house the borough’s Supreme Court, Civil and Criminal Terms, as well as its Criminal Court.
The state-of-the-art facility, however, drew criticism from the Legal Aid Society, which said the video cameras built into interview booths in the arraignment part were a violation of attorney-client privilege.
