In the first half of 2015, clients spent $131 million lobbying New York lawmakers, according to a report issued Thursday by the Joint Commission on Public Ethics (JCOPE).

Of that amount, $101 million went toward compensating in-house and retained lobbyists and $30 million paid for advertising, events and other expenses from Jan. 1 to June 30.
