Former New York corporate lawyer Charles Bennett pleaded guilty Wednesday to running a Ponzi scheme that bilked some 30 investors out of more than $5 million.
Bennett, who detailed the scheme in a suicide note that authorities discovered in November 2014, entered a guilty plea to one count each of securities fraud and wire fraud before Southern District Judge Laura Taylor Swain.
