Richard Holwell, a former Southern District judge and now a partner at Holwell Shuster & Goldberg, a litigation boutique, will soon move into an office at the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey and assume the role of interim general counsel.

Holwell was named to the position this week following the departure of general counsel Darrell Buchbinder, who retired in the wake of Bridgegate and other investigations. Holwell will oversee the bi-state agency’s 65-attorney law department and outside counsel.
