The general counsel of a major real estate developer testified Thursday in the political corruption trial of former Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos that while meeting with Skelos about rent legislation, the senator repeatedly asked the attorney to help his son, Adam, find work because he was “struggling.”
Dean Skelos is charged with using his position in Albany to have companies funnel some $300,000 to his son through no-show jobs or consulting positions and at least one indirect payment from a third party. The companies are Physicians Reciprocal Insurers (PRI), real estate developer Glenwood Management and environmental technology company AbTech Industries. Adam Skelos is charged with aiding and abetting his father’s alleged crimes.
