New York City has agreed to settle a suit with a police officer who claimed he was retaliated against for blowing the whistle on what he claimed were arrest, stop and summons quotas for police in the 42nd Precinct in the Bronx.

Craig Matthews will receive back pay, compensatory damages and attorney fees of about $287,000 under the proposed settlement filed with Southern District Judge Paul Engelmayer.
