The jury in the Dean and Adam Skelos political corruption trial deliberated for four and a half hours Thursday without reaching a verdict.

Southern District Judge Kimba Wood finished instructing the jury at about 12:30 p.m. and sent them off to begin considering the government’s evidence against the father and son, who are accused of using Dean Skelos’ position as New York state Senate majority leader to steer some $300,000 in funds to Adam Skelos through no-show jobs and a consulting contract—all with businesses that needed favorable legislative action in Albany.
