Southern District U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara said Monday that his investigation into interference with the Moreland Commission on political corruption will not result in federal charges.
Bharara said there was “insufficient evidence to prove a federal crime” for interference with the commission or its “premature closing” by Gov. Andrew Cuomo less than a year after it was formed.
