A Manhattan appeals court has paused until May a judge’s decision to stop daily fantasy sports sites DraftKings and FanDuel from doing business in the state while the sites press their appellate challenge.

The Appellate Division, First Department, on Monday stayed the effect of Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Manuel Mendez‘s approval of a motion to enjoin DraftKings and FanDuel from operating in New York state (NYLJ, Dec. 14, 2015). Attorney General Eric Schneiderman argues the sites are illegal gambling operations, an assertion the sites hotly dispute.
