The state Legislature’s finance committees have announced a schedule of 13 public hearings to review proposed spending plans in the 2016-17 state budget.

The hearing on the “public protection” portion of the budget has been set for Feb. 4 in Albany, beginning at 9:30 a.m. It is the hearing at which state court administrators face the legislative budget panels, which also hear from providers of civil and criminal legal services and other groups affected by Judiciary spending and policies.
