ALBANY – Janet DiFiore told the state Senate’s Judiciary Committee Wednesday that if she is confirmed as New York state’s next chief judge, she will be seeking to serve the interests of the judiciary and of the people who use the courts, not of the governor who nominated her.
DiFiore repeatedly assured members of the Republican-controlled committee that her career up to this point as an assistant prosecutor, judge and Westchester County District Attorney has instilled in her a way of performing her duties effectively, conscientiously and independently.
