A Manhattan federal judge said she was not convinced that certain New York City taxicab rules breached the equal protection rights of medallion owners, trade groups and credit unions connected to the yellow taxi cab industry.
The plaintiffs asked Southern District Judge Analisa Torres to order the city’s Taxi and Limousine Commission to either decrease the regulatory burden on yellow cabs or increase the burden on for-hire vehicles, such as those from Uber and Lyft.
