DLA Piper and Mitsui Fudosan America Inc. have developed plans for a major transformation of the law firm’s office space at 1251 Avenue of the Americas in Rockefeller Center.

The law firm has been a tenant of Mitsui Fudosan for the past two decades, growing its space to about 300,000 square feet. The overall square footage includes space occupied by DLA Piper as well as space leased to subtenants. A new amended lease with Mitsui Fudosan, a division of Tokyo-based Mitsui Fudosan Co. Ltd., contains a lease extension and significant modifications, reducing the space to 200,000 square feet. About 53,000 square feet of the 100,000-square-foot reduction is occupied by subtenants.
