HSBC Bank plans to fight a judge’s order to publicly file a redacted compliance monitor’s report in a deferred prosecution case, according to court filings.
Eastern District Judge John Gleeson said Friday that the public had a First Amendment right to see the report and one of six appendices, which were generated as part of a 2012 deferred prosecution deal the bank struck with prosecutors, who said the bank willfully failed its anti-money laundering obligations.
