A state judge has declined to stop the demolition of the 137-year-old amphitheater at the Chautuaqua Institute, a stage on which William Jennings Bryan, Booker T. Washington, Robert F. Kennedy and Bill Clinton and many others have appeared.
Chautuaqua County Supreme Court Justice Frank Sedita III said the sponsors of the $41.5 million amphitheater project complied with all required reviews and could proceed.
