Daniel Silver, the federal prosecutor who led an investigation and prosecution of HSBC for money laundering and sanctions violations, joined Clifford Chance as a partner Tuesday.

Silver, 38, was deputy chief of the Criminal Division in the Eastern District U.S. Attorney’s Office. He supervised a team of more than 100 federal prosecutors and ran the Eastern District’s cybersecurity program.
