The state Commission on Judicial Conduct said it had 203 pending cases at the end of 2015, an increase of 32 percent from a year earlier, and attributed the rise to continued short staffing at the agency.

The commission’s annual report said there were 16 public disciplinary rulings by the panel in 2015 and 18 other instances where judges resigned while under investigation.
