In June 2008, the Siteam Explorer put out to sea moving a large quantity of the chemical acrylonitrile from Houston, Tex., to Ulsan, South Korea. The 7,067-mile voyage was uneventful; however, the owner of the chemical alleged that the cargo delivered to South Korea had arrived in August of 2008, contaminated.
