A man can go forward with a multimillion-dollar claim against his sister, alleging she reneged on an oral promise to equally divide their mother’s estate that had been left entirely to her, a Manhattan appeals court said Tuesday.

Although the brother’s breach of contract claims were properly dismissed on statute of frauds grounds, a unanimous panel of the Appellate Division, First Department, revived his unjust enrichment and promissory estoppel claims.
