While a ruling against the pop singer Kesha has triggered outrage from her fans and supporters, more than a dozen leading lawyers in the entertainment industry found no fault with Manhattan Commercial Division Justice Shirley Werner Kornreich‘s decision to deny Kesha’s bid to nullify her contract with record producer Dr. Luke, who she claims assaulted her.

Helene Freeman, partner at Phillips Nizer’s Manhattan office who has specialized in litigating on behalf of entertainment industry artists for over 30 years, agreed Kornreich did not have facts sufficient to support a preliminary injunction that would have voided the contracts.
