A former Columbia student’s claim that he was the victim of gender discrimination by the school because it allowed a female student who had accused him of rape to carry a mattress around campus have been thrown out by a federal judge.

Southern District Judge Gregory Woods granted the school’s motion to dismiss the case brought by former student Paul Nungesser, who alleged the school was violating Title IX’s prohibition against gender discrimination.
