A state appeals court maintained Texas Sen. Ted Cruz’s presence on New York’s April 19 Republican presidential primary ballot Thursday, ruling that a challenge to his eligibility for the presidency as a “natural born citizen” of the United States was not filed on time.

A 5-0 panel of the Appellate Division, Third Department, said it was “well-settled” that New York courts have limited jurisdiction to intervene in state Election Law cases where statutes set clear deadlines for challenging candidate eligibility.
