ALBANY – Claims that a former Rensselaer County sheriff and top-ranking officials in his office improperly accessed confidential medical records of an employee being treated for severe depression will be allowed to move forward in federal court.
Charles Momrow, who no longer works for the county, alleged in his civil rights action, Momrow v. County of Rensselaer, 8:15-cv-521, that he was targeted for unconstitutional treatment because he had been accused of abusing sick time after suffering what Northern District Judge Gary Sharpe called a “severe psychological breakdown.”
