Eastern District Chief Judge Carol Bagley Amon, right, swears in LaShann DeArcy Hall as a new Eastern District judge on Friday, as her daughter, Jayden Hall, holds the Bible.

Prior to her appointment to the bench, Hall was a litigation partner at Morrison & Foerster and a litigator at Cravath, Swaine & Moore and at Gibson Dunn & Crutcher. She also served as commissioner of the New York City Taxi & Limousine Commission and commissioner of the New York State Joint Commission on Public Ethics.
