High-profile civil rights attorney Richard Emery is stepping down from his position as chair of the Civilian Complaint Review Board.
Emery, a partner at Emery Celli Brinckerhoff & Abady, announced his resignation Wednesday, saying in a statement released by New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio’s office that “the issues of inhibitions on my law practice, several of my recent public statements and recent litigation have created daily distractions from the success of the CCRB.”
