New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio has hired white-collar defense attorney Barry Berke to represent his 2013 campaign in connection with any investigation tied to fundraisers.

A campaign spokesman said, at de Blasio’s direction, Berke was retained Tuesday “to proactively reach out” to prosecutors in the Southern District U.S. Attorney’s Office “and let them know that we look forward to providing them with any information that may be helpful and to let them know that we wanted to fully cooperate with them regarding any issues of interest.”
