Retired Surrogate Charles D’Arrigo, who served on the bench for almost four decades, died Tuesday. He was 88.
A Staten Island native, D’Arrigo served in the Army and was stationed in Germany in the aftermath of World War II. After three years in the service, D’Arrigo completed his undergraduate studies at Wagner College in 1951, obtained his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School and was admitted to practice in 1954.
