Attorney General Eric Schneiderman is suing to make Rensselaer District Attorney Joel Abelove hand over the case file in a deadly police-civilian encounter.
Ten days after a Troy police officer shot and killed Edson Thevenin, Schneiderman filed an Article 78 petition on Wednesday saying Abelove’s office was obligated to turn over the file and let his office handle the matter (See also memorandum of law in support).
