The New York Law Journal is looking for Lawyers Who Lead by Example, attorneys who have made an outstanding contribution to their community by devoting their time to public service by working toward improving the courts, the laws or the profession, and/or by providing free legal services to low- and moderate-income New Yorkers.

Pro Bono: Nominees should include New York practitioners who have donated substantial time and expertise to help their fellow citizens caught up in criminal and civil cases, who have handled complicated litigation that has altered the way institutions relate to their communities or has forced a change in public policy; who have made it possible for their neighbors to avoid foreclosure; for veterans, the elderly and the disabled to receive benefits; for a small business to obtain seed money and incorporate; who have helped women find safety from domestic violence or sex trafficking, etc.
