A Manhattan attorney whose federal felony conviction was discovered only after he was suspended for not reregistering was disbarred Thursday.

William Merker failed to report his 2005 conviction to the Disciplinary Committee as required by New York’s Judiciary Law. He had pleaded guilty to conspiring to commit securities and bank fraud, according to a ruling by the Appellate Division, First Department.
