ALBANY – The annual Law Day celebration at the state Court of Appeals Monday served as a stage to commemorate the late Judith Kaye and her forward-looking work as chief judge.

The current chief judge, Janet DiFiore, said Kaye’s influence on the courts will live on for years not only because of the decisions she made from the bench but also because of the importance she placed on trying to make citizens’ interactions with the courts as painless and productive as possible.
